In 2010 only 40,000 UK homes had the facility of an outside toilet.

Once upon a time, an outside loo was the only loo on a property.

In fact, it wasn't until 1919 that The Housing and Planning Act stipulated that all new houses would include an indoor loo.

In 2010 The Halifax Building Society survey concluded that there were only 40,000 outside loos in the UK, and now the outdoor loo is no longer an inconvenience.

Lots of people got rid of them in the 70s as they reallocated space upstairs, divided up bathrooms and bedrooms, and then knocked the outside loo down in favour of extending the kitchen.

Some property owners shrewdly kept both and estate agents classify them as a monetary asset in the property value.

Now an outside loo is not an..... inconvenience.

There is an awful lot of garden decking out there, patio's have been built, garden lighting and electric points installed, now we just need the weather.

The UK outdoor furniture market in 2024 is expected be £.38bn.

Now I had to look up how many nought's were involved in that very small concertina'd figure and it turns out it is
£380,000,000 or £380 million

The outdoor furniture in question includes tables and chairs, loungers,three-piece suites, umbrellas and other outdoor seating and dining furniture.

Have you bought a Ninja recently?

Now, on top of that, n 2024, the revenue in the sale of grills & roasters in the United Kingdom is expected to be around £15.58m which does include things like Raclette machines, Woodfire "Electric" BBQ Grill and smokers and various types of BBQ:

  • Gas ready to go and easy to clean
  • Charcoal: For the authentic barbecue experience, flavour and demonstration of one's flair in "doing it as it's meant to be done"
  • Electric - Plug it in and go.

Garden Cuisine - It's a fine art

To sum up, the UK is experiencing a surge in demand for high-quality grills and roasters, as consumers embrace outdoor cooking to recreate the authentic British barbecue experience and with all these gadgets, like "let me show you my new brick-lined wood fired pizza oven" it is a firmly established, regular garden event practiced to a fine art.

But 40,000 outside loos doesn't divide up very well among 28.4 million households and that is where we come in.

Is one loo enough?

If you have a garden event and you don't want people traipsing through the house and queuing on the stairs, then perhaps you could benefit from one or more designated outdoor loo's delivered and well-stocked, for a day, a weekend or longer and collected at a predetermined time, then please get in touch.
